From the November 9th to 15th, Etu Energias was present at the Intra-African Trade Fair, which took place in Cairo, Egypt. The 14th of November was marked by the signing of the Term Sheet between Etu Energias and Afreximbank, relating to the agreement to purchase oil assets (Upstream in Angola) at the beginning of this year.
The Fair organized by the African Export and Import Bank (Afreximbank), in collaboration with the African Union and the AfCFTA Secretariat, was attended by heads of state, senior government officials; continental/global players in multiple sectors.
Promoting the competitiveness of African member countries within the AfCFTA agenda also aligns with the Bank's objective of supporting private sector development, competitiveness and strong trade performance of African countries.
The various sectors covered include agribusiness, health, environment and climate development, infrastructure - energy (renewable energy), water, transport and logistics development.
The IATF is the unique platform to facilitate the exchange of trade and investment information in support of increased intra-African trade and investment, especially in the context of the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
At IATF 2023, trade and investment agreements worth US$43 billion are expected to be closed. The fair attracted 75 participating countries, 1,600 business exhibitors, entrepreneurs, investors, financiers and 35,000 buyers and visitors.
