The concession was signed in partnership with Sonangol Exploração e Produção, S.A. and GESPROCON Lda.
Holding a 67.5% stake, Etu Energias leads the consortium, which also includes Sonangol E.P. (20%) and GESPROCON (12.5%), as established by Presidential Decree No. 91/25 of April 28. The contract provides for a total concession period of 25 years, with the first five years dedicated to the exploration phase and the remaining 20 years to production.
This new operation is part of Etu Energias’ expansion strategy and reaffirms its commitment to the sustainable development of Angola’s oil industry. The geographic proximity of Block CON 4 to other concessions already operated by the company is expected to generate significant operational synergies, accelerating the start of exploration activities.
According to Edson R. Dos Santos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Etu Energias, this step is a clear demonstration of confidence in the company’s technical and operational capabilities:
“Etu Energias’ entry into Block CON 4 represents yet another vote of confidence from the Angolan State and our partners in the company’s ability to lead operations safely, efficiently, and profitably. The proximity of this Block to other concessions already operated by Etu Energias will enable important synergies and accelerate the start of exploration activities.”
By assuming leadership of this new project, Etu Energias further strengthens its commitment to promoting local content and delivering energy to drive Angola’s economic and social development.
