Hence, Etu Energias, since September 1, 2023, became a member of Oil Spill Response Limited (O.S.R.L), thus ensuring preparedness for responding to oil spills and reducing incident management complexities.

This partnership will make it possible to respond to the general requirements of applicable international and Angolan regulations, namely the Petroleum Activities Law No. 10/04 of 12 November, the General Environmental Law “No. 05/98 of 19 June and the Decree No. 39/00 on responding to the environmental impact of petroleum activities”, to respond to the process of escalating spills from Level 1 to Level 2 and Level 3.

The project aims to ensure Level 3 coverage through OSRL affiliation; respond locally (Level 1 and 2) using oil spill response equipment leased from OSRL and use oil spill response equipment leased from OSRL to meet the minimum requirements for adherence to the agreement allow Etu Energias accession to the ANG agreement 212. (MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT OIL OPERATORS IN ANGOLA).

OSRL offers free technical advice (5 people for 5 days); 18 response team members (13+5); 700m3 of Dispersants with 2 (Two) aircraft (in the United Kingdom and Malaysia) and access to 50% of equipment per type.
