The first day of the Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) 2023 conference and exhibition was marked by the intervention of important Angolan oil and gas companies who provided an insightful view on decarbonization strategies in the context of zero emission objectives and international trends in the upstream sector.

Etu Energias was represented by the PCA, Edson R. dos Santos flanked by general directors from the companies Azule Energy, Total Energies, Sonangol and Chevron. Regarding decarbonization, Edson R. Dos Santos described the company's plan to contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions, while ensuring operational efficiency with a view to reducing the emission of harmful gases into the environment.

“We really try to take care of the environment, but we always try to prioritize what helps us from a financial and operational point of view,” he said.

The oil and gas sector in Africa faces the challenge of meeting growing energy demand while reducing emissions.
